Shenzhen, China — October 2025.
BYD has announced that its vehicles now generate more than 100 million kilometers of assisted driving data every day. By the end of September 2025, the cumulative sales of BYD models equipped with assisted driving (ADAS) systems exceeded 1.7 million units, highlighting the company’s rapid growth in smart driving technology and large-scale data accumulation.
According to BYD, this milestone reflects the expansion of its “smart driving” ecosystem and the deployment of its God’s Eye assisted driving system across multiple brands under the BYD umbrella — including BYD, Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang.

Why it matters
The scale of BYD’s data collection gives the company a major edge in training machine learning models and improving real-world ADAS performance through OTA updates.
With each kilometer of driving data, BYD refines its algorithms for lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, and complex traffic scenarios — crucial steps toward higher levels of autonomy.
The milestone also shows how consumer adoption of assisted driving is accelerating in China. What used to be a premium option is quickly becoming a standard feature, even in mid-range EVs and hybrids.
At the same time, BYD’s rapid data growth raises important discussions around data governance, privacy, and AI safety — topics that will increasingly shape the next stage of intelligent mobility.
